Relay for Life
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event held in communities across the country to bring together people who have been touched by cancer. Participants raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society in its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer. Team members take turns walking or running laps throughout the night to represent that cancer never sleeps. But Relay for Life is not about taking laps – it is about coming together to celebrate cancer survivors, to remember those lost and to fight back against this disease. It is an opportunity to build hope for a future where cancer no longer threatens the lives of the people we love and have fun. Relay for Life Vienna 2008 will take place on Saturday, May 17th at 2PM until Sunday May 18th 7AM (Show up whenever and stay as long as you can) at the track at George C Marshall High School (7731 Leesburg Pike - near Tyson's Corner and West Falls Church Metro). Visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/metrodukes to join Team MetroDukes and our fight against cancer, or to make a tax deductible donation to the American Cancer Society. The way to a cure for cancer is not a race, but a Relay. If you have any questions please contact team co-captains Caroline ('05) caroline.s.chin@gmail.com or Lauren ('05) lauren.m.mcguire@gmail.com.
