CAN Golf tournament info

You’ve asked for it, so here it is…the inaugural CAN Golf Tournament!!!

General Tournament Information:

- Location: South Riding GC, South Riding, VA

- Date/Time: August 25, 2007 – 1:30pm Shotgun Start

- Cost: $100/golfer

- Format: Captain’s choice scramble (Everyone’s tee shot must be used at least once)

- Prizes: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams will win money towards their sponsoring school’s scholarship fund.

- 50% alumni rule from sponsoring school

- No co-ed requirement

- Tees: Men start at the whites, and move to the next furthest tee every time their group birdies. They move closer every time their group bogeys. Men never move closer than the tee box they started on. Ladies and Seniors will always hit from the forward tees.

- Fee includes: greens fee, cart fee (GPS System), “John Daly” buffet dinner afterwards, non-alcoholic beverages, 1 bucket of balls for practice range.

- Assorted raffles and contests (closest to pin, longest drive, etc).

Chapter Considerations/Application process:

- All schools in good standing in CAN may apply.

- Only 1 team per school will be accepted from July 2 – July 11 on a first-come, first-served basis.

- July 12 begins open registration again on a first-come, first-served basis to fill the remaining spots.

- There is only room for 36 teams, but a waiting list will maintained should a team decide not to participate or fail to pay by the deadline.

- All teams must have the full support of the alumni chapter Board and must submit the chapter president's information along with their application. The chapter president will be notified to verify the alumni status of the person submitting the application.

- Upon verification by chapter president, the payment website address will be emailed to the coach.

- July 20 will be the payment deadline for those teams accepted in the first round of applications.

- July 27 will be the payment deadline for those teams accepted in the second round of applications.

- Application period will fully close on August 10 and waitlist will be cut off at that time.
